Shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday,. June 9, Baltimore County, MD Truck 13 was on their way back to quarters after clearing an apartment fire where they were first-in truck when they were alerted for a reported townhouse fire at 2209 Amber Way in the Westview area. While en route, firefighters were alerted that the county 911 center was receiving multiple phone calls for a fire. First arriving Truck 13 and Engine 3 reported heavy fire from the second floor of a middle-of-the-row townhouse. Crews had heavy fire in 2 townhomes and command quickly upgraded to a 2nd Alarm Woodlawn, MD, Nov. 8, 2007 – Units on Baltimore County’s westside battled a fire in a garden apartment building on the evening of November 8. Shortly before 9 p.m., BCoFD Engine 3 (Woodlawn career) was dispatched for an investigation after a female called 911 from 7212 Oak Haven Circle in the Oakview Apartments requesting the fire department and then hung up. Additional 911 calls were then received, causing a full fire box to be dispatched.Engine 3 arrived at the 3-story building with heavy smoke showing, requested a Working Fire Dispatch, and began searching for the fire. Crews located fire in a third floor apartment heating unit with extension to the ceiling and roof area. An aggressive interior attack contained the fire to one apartment.Pikesville Volunteers Tower 323 positioned in a parking lot to the rear of the fire building, and its crew, via the bucket, assisted crews from Truck 18 (Randallstown) and Truck 13 (Westview) in opening up the roof area to check for fire extension. A Shift finally had a fire. Engine 2 was dispatched as the 4th due engine to box 13-10 for an apartment fire, with reports of people trapped. While enroute, dispatch reported police on the scene with people trapped on the third floor. First arriving units reported heavy fire showing and requested a 2nd Alarm. Engine 2 arrived, and finished Engine 3's split lay, and then reported to the hydrant in front of the building. Engine 2 eventually pumped a ladder pipe, 2 blitzfires, and multiple handlines. This fire has been ruled accidental by Balto. Co. FID.
Lt. K. Roody from A Shift (detailed to Engine 18) suffered minor injuries as a result of the fire. Everyone at station 2 wishes her a speedy recovery, and quick return. 4 firefighters from 4 suffered minor injuries as well and are sent our best wishes as well.

Shortly after 1am, Units were alerted for an apartment fire on Stockmill Ct. While enroute, dispatch was advising units of multiple calls, and reports of people trapped. First arriving Engine 2 found heavy fire showing, and requested a Second Alarm. Crews made an aggressive attack, and performed search and rescue. Fire conditions eventually forced crews to evacuate the building and go to defensive operations. Unfortunately, a six-month old child succumbed to injuries suffered at the scene. Balto. Co. FID investigated, and determined the cause to be accidental.
